? about bleeding after having a baby?

I had my baby 9 days ago and got my tubes tied 24 hours after he was born, I was bleeding like normal then I was just spotting and every now and then I would have a small gush of blood that was really dark and would soak the middle of the pad, then I stopped bleeding for 2 days and now the only bleeding that I am having is the small gushes every now and then, has this happened to anyone else? This was my 4th child but this never happened after I had the others so I was wondering if this is just something that happens after a tubal ligation?
