Should I opt for general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia?

I am having a tubal reversal. My doctor has given me the choice between being completely put to sleep or just having spinal anesthesia. I am nervous about being put to sleep, but I don't know how it will feel to be awake during the procedure either. Can anyone help?
